Architecture epoch – Waldorf school
Location
Budapest
The primary objective of building is to create the narrower framework of life, i.e. spaces necessary for the various forms of human activity. The material of architecture – what architecture effectively works with and shapes – is space itself. The architectural history course in the epoch is based on this defnition and provides a survey of the most important architectural periods from megalithic culture until the present day. The successive periods are not discussed on merely stylistic grounds but as part of a social and intellectual/ spiritual process, and the impact of the built-up environment upon people and society is also studied. The three-week-long epoch also includes collectively realised creative projects as well as freehand drawing and writing.
