cultureActive – ParticiPécs (project)

Location
Pécs

The urban development board game called ParticiPécs was developed in 2014 by kultúrAktív in cooperation with experts and pupils of secondary schools in Pécs. The game is the result of a co-design project that lasted for one school term, and was expanded with additional accessories and programmes in the following years. The game board shows the town of Pécs, and the basic story features actual locations and processes in the town. The players can discover a wide range of small-scale grassroots initiatives aimed at making Pécs a more attractive and better place, while they can experience what it is like to participate in the development of their urban environment. School workshops are held to encourage pupils to take an active part in shaping their town. During the game they can design public interventions, some of which were displayed at exhibitions and implemented within the framework of community projects.
