Rehabilitation of Teleki Square with community planning
Realization
2014
Location
Budapest
The rehabilitation of Teleki Square was realised with community planning aimed at creating a communal park in the place of the badly deteriorated square with the participation of the inhabitants living in the area. The process took shape in the form of a ten-week workshop series open for all to join. The residents of the area were invited to participate in the project on posters with the question “What do you want Teleki Square to be like?” The local population was therefore able to take part as co-planners in a project that allowed them to formulate their visions for their personal lives too. As a result, a community of civilians was formed, which may play an active role in the shaping of the park and the organisation of communal events in the longer term.
