Zoological Park Visitor Centre and Hotel Pangea Ecocenter

The design of the new, multi-purpose reception building allows easy access even for large numbers of visitors to the Zoological Park, who are greeted by the haven and sight of a roof system built at the level of the foliage of the surrounding trees. The visitor centre is the frst visually attractive element of the park, creating the frst impression and experience for the public with a unique section designed for zoological shows and an in-house museum presenting the history of the park. The architectural language of the Hotel Pangea Ecocenter is characterised by simple masses, the organic use of materials, transparency and functionality. The pillars supporting the balconies resemble tree trunks and the balconies themselves are reminiscent of piers, while the glistening of the glass curtain wall closing off the interior evokes the image of a water surface.
