The original building was constructed in 1943 to the designs of József Schall, and was later nicknamed the “Mushroom”. Beneath the round roof, a control building, ticket office, waiting room and café operated in three units. It has been a listed building since 1997. The main principle of the reconstruction was to achieve perfect symmetry with a special interpretation of the building protection criteria. The reconstruction of the original building contours was accompanied by the installation of curved, heat-insulation glazing, curved fine concrete panels and contemporary details.
