The generational prosthesis is an experimental facility aimed at providing an innovative solution for a communal space for the members of different generations who live apart but are dependent on one another. It creates a symbiosis for the active but lonely members of old people’s homes and the members of the youngest generation living far from their grandparents. The relationships formed here would function as a kind of generational prosthesis able to reshape the image of the 21stcentury family. The project utilises the community-shaping and integrating power of people caring for each other.
