Reconstruction and extension of Király Thermal Bath, design competition

The Király Bath complex (made up of the 16th-century Turkish bath with a dome and the wings joined to it in the 18th and 19th centuries) was given its modern-day look during the restoration of the 1950s but its comprehensive modernisation became essential. The design competition invited architects to submit high standard concept designs suitable to serve as a foundation for a later planning process as well as to clarify the client’s needs, while preserving the legacy and historical values of Király Bath and continuing the tradition of its historical and functional diversity in a contemporary way.
