The concept of this contemporary market-hall was inspired by the awnings in the streets of Moroccan bazaars. According to the design, the triangular site connected with its broader environment: a chain structure anchored to the surrounding buildings and to the ground provides shade for the entire area of the market. The scaffolding-like design allows through trafc. The approx. 2-ton shading system is built onto the reinforced supporting structure of the nearby buildings. Protection against rain is ensured by upcycled plastic awnings that can be pulled out from the seats and attached to the stalls. The collected grey water will be used for irrigating the adjacent park.
