MOME EcoLab – Cloud Factory

Location
Bódvaszilas, Tomor

The experimental social design project, Cloud Factory, was launched in 2012 by the sustainability research team at MOME EcoLab. The locations selected for the project are two villages, Bódvaszilas and Tomor, in a severely disadvantaged region of Hungary. The Cloud Factory is a social design studio where the members of the local community can master the foundations of the creative process and design thinking with the help of MOME university’s students and teachers coming from a wide range of professional areas. Individual projects are based on the challenges and ambitions expressed by the local communities and are linked to the local context with the aim of achieving tangible results within the framework of long term (several years) cooperative creative work. The aim of the creative collaboration process is to help the members of the community to experience the power of their own creativity through the jointly created works and to encourage them to form new perspectives for themselves.
