The extension project made it possible to merge the obsolete local authority customer service offices into a two-part complex capable of serving today’s requirements. The architects set out to conserve what is perhaps the most beautiful surviving original cityscapes of the Kőbánya district of Budapest, and ensure functional harmony between the two parts of the building. Transparent spaces were created in both building parts. The façade is made of prefabricated bare concrete panels. The thin, blade-like details and the rhythm and proportions of the openings fts in well with the character of the surrounding late 19th to early 20th century facades.
