Church ruins, tower and viewing monument
Architect

Year of inauguration
2014
Location
Csomorkány
The village of Csomorkány was devastated by the Turks in the 1500s. Its only surviving monument are the ruins of its church. The memorial tower is a sign showing the direction in the wilderness and a tribute to the old church tower aimed at symbolising the notion of belonging together. The viewing structure is made up of three spiral staircases, each with a separate axis. The gradation and fragmented character of both the tower and the staircases evoke the church’s brick walls.
