New Educational Building of the National University of Public Service

Along with the Ludovika listed building, the new teaching building is one of the most important elements of the Orczy Park campus. The inverse Z shape forms three triangles within the rhomboid site. These enclose the orderly ranks of slim, fve-storey tall columns marking out the rhomboid contour, supporting the beam that connects the wings of the building. The dominant part of the cross-wing of the Z shape is the space of the transparent ornamental staircase that “drills through” the entire building, where the exterior façade cladding also becomes an interior feature as it playfully slithers through to the inside wall of the lobby.
