The Esterházy pressing house and cellar house dates back to the 18th century. In 1958 it was declared a listed building, but by the mid-1990s its condition had deteriorated considerably. The basis for the renovation concept was that the original, surviving parts of the building should be conserved, renovated and augmented to arrive at a contemporary interpretation. The designer inserted new elements into the place of the destroyed parts of the building using contemporary architectural tools and materials, but maintaining the original proportions, dimensions, forms, colours and character.
