Pest-Buda Hotel

Architect

Year of inauguration
2016
Location
Budapest

This building in the Buda Castle was reconstructed in the Baroque period and underwent several conversions during its history. The Pest-Buda Hotel project was aimed at creating an atmosphere beftting the era and the surroundings, while retaining the original details, emphasising the hitherto hidden values and providing modern amenities that satisfy the needs of today’s guests. A signature element of the building is its exposed Baroque roof structure, which is now combined with glass surfaces opening the design up towards the courtyard; the dark cellars were converted into terraces and light, open spaces but still ft in with the enclosed ambiance of the environment.
