A new element on the campus of the National University of Public Service is the new sports centre with its dimensions nicely matching those of the academy. A single, bold gesture was used in the design: the simple block is slit open at the tierce-point, indicating the place of the entrance, taking visitors into a vast, covered open-air space, which is also lit from the top. The covered, open-air space is a new architectural element on the campus and functions on the east side as an actual and symbolic gate to the Orczy Park, thus providing a space for those arriving, leaving and waiting. Sportsmen can enter the swimming pool and the multi-functional hall from this space, while the staircase leading to the foyer of the public areas also begins here and the arena can be accessed from here too.
