“An emblematic bridge structure spanning the course like the graceful body of a boat. Striking, functional and ethereal »building« with a diversity of features in reserve. An experimental project that deserves attention on the international arena but is better kept here, in Hungary. It has an examplary key plan placement distinguished by precise and strict delineation of the zones designated for races, guests and sportsmen. The tower in the winning plan extends not upward but horizontally. (…) Practical and is adapted well to the characteristics of a rowing course; it does not arrest the winds. The appearance of and the architectural approach taken to this rowing course are without precedent all over the world.” (excerpt from the jury statement)
