This development was the second phase in the complex reconstruction of Szent István Square. Resolving the issue of the market was essential in order to free up the main square and turn it into an agora-like space. The six-storey building, with a total gross area of 25 000 m2, houses an underground car park and market hall, with an events space on top of it. These open onto the outdoor space, which is also undergoing renovation, making both them accessible to the public both functionally and in terms of their architectural form. The building is intended to serve as a vertically and horizontally traversable community space, and a backdrop for diverse civic events (held in the market and theatre).
