Culture Factory

The rehabilitated brownfeld site is located in the centre of Ózd. The former factory school received a new lobby and lift. The original wet areas were reconstructed, and new installation spaces and surfaces were created. The Power Station building functions as both a teaching facility and exhibition space. The sight of the original Art Nouveau industrial shed and the retention of its fxtures and fttings, which are important artefacts of industrial history, formed an important part of the concept. The display warehouse housed in the former shed was designed with the capacity to store 200,000 reels of flm, and has also become Hungary’s largest green screen studio, at 80 metres. The buildings are surrounded by consistent, puritan and modest, yet contemporary landscaping.
