In the early 2000s, the former Ganz Factory buildings were repurposed for cultural use. The reconstruction of the existing industrial building housing the theatre evokes the building’s original function, while the juxtaposition of the new extension creates a harmonious whole with the old part. The industrial hall provides an optimal space for the large auditorium and related functions, and the flexible floor plan promotes versatility of use and cost-effective operation. The spectacular new lobby functions in close symbiosis with the park, as a constantly buzzing, inviting public piazza. The reconstruction has turned the building into the main focal point of the park.
