Anonym Twin Wine Cellars

The design of the Twin Cellars was inspired by Szövényi Áron’s twins and gold medal-winning wines. The cellar in the Öreghegy (Old Mountain) part of the village is a twinning of the old and new, capped by a double roof that floats above the grassy hills. On the ground floor of the old pressing house, a wooden crossbeam press, basket and cooper’s tools are on display, while in the stone-vaulted cellar the art of drawing wine from the cask in a glass tube is demonstrated. In the new cellar, visitors arriving for wine tasting can see how the wines are fltered and clarifed. An important step in the winemaking process is the blending, and guests can try their hand at this, too. At the end of the tour they have the opportunity to bottle their own blended wines.
