The Corvin Project is a 21st-century property development project in one of Budapest’s traditionally built-up areas with a dwindling population. The character of the Nokia Skypark Offices is at variance with the other, more monumental public spaces of the Corvin Promenade since its loosely interlaced community spaces with a main square at its centre, where all pedestrian axes meet, create a small town atmosphere. The office buildings appear as asymmetrical ‘gates’ and thus lead the ‘theatrical’ Main Promenade into a more laid-back urban environment. Encircled by the dynamic, curved facade of Nokia Skypark stands the sculpture of the mono-monostatic body known as Gömböc.
