The oldest parts of the building date back to the 14th century; and its owners can be traced from the end of the 16th century. In 2001, the then derelict building was acquired by the Reformed Church Youth Association. After being surveyed and documented as a listed monument, the comprehensive reconstruction project began in 2009. Although the research identifed six different periods of construction, the renovation work restored its 1922 state, retaining one or two details of later alterations, and displaying the 14th century artefacts uncovered during the survey.
