Reconstruction of railway station and surroundings

The original railway station was constructed in 1903 as a prefabricated building, and was altered substantially 1962. The main objective of the present reconstruction was to give the building a modern character while retaining the existing strengths, and developing the exterior and interior passenger areas and room structure in line with 21st century functional requirements. Important factors in the architectural concept were energy-efcient design and cost-effective running.
