Merapi – ritualised tour to an active volcano in Indonesia

The project proposes questions about the dichotomy between East and West, traditions in our modernising world and the vulnerable position of architecture. These issues are addressed through an imaginary ritualised tour to Merapi, an active volcano in Indonesia. Emphasis is on processes such as the disappearance of functions, changes in architectural forms, observing the forces of nature and its imprints.
